From Stone to Energy

An easy trekking experience suitable even for children aged 9 and above.
The route is on trail completely surrounded by nature for 6km total (outward -return).
We will start from Muccia, specifically from the square where Da Varano’s Mill is located, the first mill founded by the noble family of Camerino, a source of market, history and culture.
We will follow the path along the Chienti River until we reach another small and mighty jewel of the Chienti Valley, the Gelagna Mill. One of the most innovative structures of the 20th century, when from a Stone Mill, it became a power plant, still functioning. Its janitor ” the Miller” is waiting for us to tell his well-established history on site.
